形態特徵

Large twiner. Stems terete, young parts densely gray pubescent, glabrescent.
Leaves broadly ovate, 8–15 cm long, 7–13 cm wide, membranaceous, entire, apex obtuse, base cordate, densely short tomentose when young, glabrescent, upper surface with white hairs mainly along veins, lateral veins 7–9 on each side of midrib, secondary veins parallel, distinct abaxially; petiole 3–8 cm long, pubescent, becoming glabrescent.
Inflorescences subumbelliform; peduncle terete, to 20 cm or more long, densely pubescent, glabrescent, branches ca. 1 cm long; pedicel 1.5–2.5 cm long, gradually thickened apically, with a thick lobed ring immediately below calyx; flower buds narrowly ovoid; sepals elliptic, apex obtuse, glabrous, ca. 1.5 cm long, margin membranaceous; corolla broadly funnelform, ca. 3 cm long, reddish, slightly 5-lobed; stamens 5, filaments pubescent toward base, ca. 1 cm long, anthers ca. 4 mm long; ovary globose, glabrous, style 12 mm long, glabrous.
